          task, "Use the Latrine in a Chemical Environment," was
          particularly difficult to train to proficiency.

                       (d) Bull% draw of CDE and Class VIII NBC items
          occurred with little difficulty. The CDE draw assured units
          of having one complete ensemble set and a second BDO. THe first
          was carried by each soldier on board the aircraft, and the
          second in the soldier's duffle bag.

                   (2) In retrospect, the success of NBC preparation for
          deployment may be measured by determining if the events listed
          above reflect positively on the the two FORSCOM directives
          attached as enclosures to this report.

                       (a) In total, the NBC Division, Ist ID (M),
          processed approximately 14 non-divisional units of varying sizes
          (up to company size) that had a total population of 766
          soldiers. NBC Division likewise processed approximately four
          federalized RC Units having a total population of 542 soldiers.
          These actions were completed during the period 8 Aug - 8 Nov C?C).

                       (b) Post Chemical, USAG, processed approximately six
          non-divisional units with a total Population of 212 soldiers,
          and approximately 16 federalized RC units having a total
          Population of 1875 soldiers. This processing took place during
          the period 9 Nov 90 - 16 Jan 91.

                   (3) TrainLtp time -For USAG personnel was sufficient under
          Desert Shield.
