2. (U) Operation DESERT SHIELD conducted by USCENTCOM on 02/13/91.

4. (U) TITLE: Deployment: Administration: Publications Shipping
Addresses
5. (U) OBSERVATION: Deploying units did not submit change of
address +or the receipt of official publications.
6. (U) DISCUSSION: Fort Riley Publications Center has received
large quantities of publications destined +or deployed units and
include TM's, etc., *or new equipment, and are needed by the
ordering units. As the address is Fort Riley, these
publications are intermingled with those of on-post units and
activities, making it necessary to separate and repack
publications prior to forwarding to deployed units. The Fort
Riley Publications Center has now provided the correct shipping
information to the U.S. Army Publications Center.
7. (U) LESSON LEARNED: Units did not follow publications
procedures provided by Publications Center.
B. (U) RECOMMENDED ACTION: That Installation Publications
Center provide correct shipping information to the Publications
Center +or future deployments.
