          4. (U) TITLE: DEPLOYMENT: LIAISON TEAM AT SPOD


          5. (U) OBSERVATION: Ist ID (M) was the only deploying division
          that provided a liaison team at the SPOD during arrival of
          units.


          6. (U) DISCUSSION- Liaison team did basic coordination for all
          incoming units and relieved them of many responsibilities. lst
          ID (M) was the last division to arrive at SPOD and was the first
          to move to the TAA.


          7. (U) LESSON LEARNED: Having a liaison team at the SPOD is
          indispensable for coordinating arrival of equipment by sea with
          the strategic airflow of unit personnel.

          S. (U) RECOMMENDED ACTION: a. lst ID (M): Continue to send a
          liaison team to SPOD during deployments.
               b. FORSCOM: Encourage other major units to send liaison
          teams to the SPOD.
