   MEDICAL ASPECTS OF NBC WARFARE

   1. If after removal of contaminated clothing, radiation or chemical contamination
   persist, showering or bathing is required.

   2. After removal of clothing and bathing, patients will be monitored to determine
   effectiveness of decontamination procedures.

   3. Only normal hygiene measures are required for personnel handling radiologically
   contaminated patients.

      a. Issue clothing is sufficient protection for normal work with radiologically
   contaminated casualties. Cuffs, wrigtg, and neck will be tight to prevent entrance
   of contaminated dust.

      b. In cases of chemical casualties, protective clothing will be used.

      c. Clothing and equipment which becomes too highly contaminated for further use
   will be disposed in the same manner as pationt'g clothing and equipment.

      d. Monitors will be changed when maximum permissible exposure hag been reached.
   TOE equipment will be diverted from normal use i'n,egtablighing the NBC Receiving
   Station, as required. However, certain items such as sterilizers and regugaitatorg
   should never be diverted.

   5. Treatment, Evacuation, and Reporting of NBC Casualties. NBC casualties will be
   treated IAW 8-215 and accepted medical practice.
