              (U) XVIII Airborne Corps RCP Base Defense SOP. 8 Dec 00.

              1. (U) Situation.

                   a. (U) Friendly Forces. Annex A (Task Organization).

                   b. (U) Enemy Forces. Annex B (Intelligence).
              2.   Ud Mission. let COSCOM conducts rear battle operations
              to prevent interruption of and promptly restore command
              control and combat service support functions within the XVIII
              Airborne Corps AOR.

              3.   (U) Execution.

                   a.       CommAnder's Intent. The intended outcome of
              rear operations is to ensure austainment of fighting
              capability of the X-VIII Airborne Corps.. We will ensure this
              mustainment by defending ourselves from Level I and II
              attacks.

                   b. (U) Concept of Operations.

                   (1)  WT Units will form themselves into bases to
              provide for internal defense and protection. The Corps Rear
              Command Post (RCP) will designate bases and base clusters.
              Units remaining in the Dammam area will close and consolidate
              their bases for better force protection/security. They will
              coordinate their rear operations with ARCENT RAOC. The Corps
              ACofS. G3 allocates the tactical combat force (TCF).

                   (2) (U) Rear Operations.

                        (a)       Rear Operations Response. Base/unit
              oomma6nders are responsible for base security. survivability,
              and force protection and the initial response to level I
              attacks. Base commanders are to be prepared to defeat level
              II threats in the event of multiple rear area level II
ill comply with the
              Corps Base/Base Cluster Defense Planning SOP and provide
              defense sector xketches and diagrams of all occupied building
              to the Rep.
