TAB B (BATTLE LOSS REPORT) TO APPENDIX 4 (LOGISTICAL REPORTS) TO
ANNEX X (REPORTS) TO XVIII AIRBORNE CORPS FIELD SOP
1. The Battle Loss Report (BATLOSREP) is used to report losses or
potential losses of Command reportable CL VII (see LOGSTAT, TAB A,
for reportable items).
2. This report is an initial report which may or may not consider
the recoverability or repairability of the item; it serves only as
a "heads-up" to the Corps ACofS, G4 to begin assessment of
availability for replacement issue. It also permits consultation
with the Corps G3 to obtain the priority for issue for available CL
VII in the GS base.
3. The report is submitted as battle losses occur. It is
submitted to: CDR XVIII ABN CORPS//G4// with an information copy
to: CDR IST COSCOM//2 SPT CTR//.
4. Reporting units will provide a control number for each LIN
reported lost. This number will consist of the unit designation in
the clear followed by a julian date and serial number. For
example: 35TH SIG BDE 0214-0001. The control number serves to
prevent duplication of reporting. This is important especially
when units are cross-attached.
5. This report is not a supply action. The LOGSTAT report (TAB A)
is considered the supply action for requesting a replacement item
during combat conditions.
