                  SUMMARY:
         
         
                  EQs 55 (M3A2) was moving into the a~no holding area and bunker
                  complex as the left most vehicle in the platoon, which caused it
                  to be slightly ahead of the remainder of the platoon. AS it
                  roved forward, it was hit by a suspected I~PG round on the lower
                  right side, vicinity the 02 skirt just above the road wheel. The
                  round entered the engine compartment and traveled through the
                  transmission, engine and left final drive before exiting near the
                  towing pintal. The crew evacuated without injury, and there was
                  no fire. The crew did not turn off the Main Power but they were
                  unable to move the turret after they had been hit.
