ANNEX B
(Nonitoring, Warning and Marking Pro~edures) to Operation Desert
Storm NBC SOP
1. NODA.
a. Monitoring and Detection. E.Lght M43A1 detectors will be
placed around the MODA building according to the diagram in
Appendix 1. Saudi MPs will provide .`3ecurity to the detectors.
NBC section personnel will maintain the detectors. The M42 units
(alarms) will be placed in the NBC Room and monitored by the NBC
section
b. Warning. Upon detection of a chemical agent, the NBC
section will immediately notify the L:FOC Team Chief who will
initiate the emergency notification system lAW the Emergency
Notification and Reaction SOP.
2. Staff Annex,
a. Monitoring and Detection. Four M43Al detectors will be
placed around the Staff Annex according to the diagram in
Appendix 2. US MPs will provide security to the detectors. NBC
section personnel will maintain the cetectors. The M42 units
(alarms) will be placed at the front MP desk and monitored by the
MPs.
b. Warning. Upon detection of a chemical agent the front
desk NP will immediately initiate the alarm for the Staff Annex
lAW the Emergency Notification and Reaction SOP. Next, the NP
will notify the MP at the combined US/Sa~di MODA military police
desk and the MP at the Ulaya Compound vi~ radio (primary) or
telephone (secondary) lAW the Emergency Notification and Reaction
SOP.
3. ASASCO COMPOUND 1.
a. Four M43Al detectors will be pl~ced around the compound
according to the diagram in Appendix 3. The MP guards will
provide security to the detectors. NBC section personnel ~ill
maintain the detectors. The M42 unit~ (alarms) will be p~aced at
the front gate to the compound and mo~itored by the NP.
