And we have Kuwaiti POWs after the 2nd of August: 4,135 and 12 Saudis
that crossed the border. The Kuwaitis held is 2,098. These are the
true numbers as they are. For ~he dead bodies we will give you some
                               C' f
numbers

LTG KHALID (SA): As to the~Saudi~ POWs, what is the number and names?

ThTG AHMAD (I): The number is nin)a.

As for the dead bodies the number we have is 14 2 of them are
buried, and 12 not buried. 8 of them are Unidentified. From these
14, 5 British, I American, and 8 unidentified.

GEN SCHWARZKOPF (US): If I may, I would now like to give you the list
that I mentioned earlier so if perhaps you can take this list back and
identify the POWs--which ones are on this list. This is our missing
list.

LTG AlIMAD (I): And we would like to have the numbers of the POWs on
our side as well please

GEN SCHWARZKOPF (US): We have, as of last night 60,000. 60,000 plus
and that is only because it is difficult to completely count. They,
of course, will all be returned. This is the list of American
missing that I would like to have information if the names are known.
And any information you might be able to get from any of your villages
where someone was killed but they might have a dog tag or something
like that so families know

LTG AHMAD (I): We will do our utmost.

GEN SCHWARZKOPF (US): These are the nanes from the British, these are
the Saudi Arabian. You said you have two Italian POWs, I think that
is good news. There are only two names on the Italian list so I will
give you the list. And the one Kuwaiti pilot. If it is satisfactory
with you now, I would like to give you the map. Perhaps we can take a
short recess while you look at this map and we can discuss it.

LTG AHMAD (I): At the same time we will give you the maps of the
mines so you could have a look.

GEN SCHWAPZKOPF (US) Very good

GEN SCHWAPZKOPF (US): This is also a much much more detailed
information on the British missing that you might be able to use to
determine that fact.

IJTG AHMAD (I): These are the naval minefields/charts This is the
southern part from the shore until "Salmi11 (Pause) and we will as soon
as possible send you the rest. They are back in Baghdad

GEN SCliWARZKOPF (US): This is the map of the area with the line ,on it
and we can take a recess now maybe you-can look at it and we will be
happy to discuss it.
