            During the closing stages  of Operation Desert Shield, Our
          company moved into a position was much' like every other place
          we'd been so -Far. As we started to *et up our camp, a lone camel
          wandered up. Marines being Marines, they quickly adopted the
          camel feeding It bread and gallons of water% patting it and
          photographing each other with It. All except for the Company
          lstsgt who it from Carralls Missouri. 11 Keep that mangy animal
          away from me!" He'd say. But for some unknown reason the camel
          would always end up following the IstSgt. ."Set It away iron mL,!"
          He'd yell, and a group of Marines would shoo it away, 1114 That
          thing comes near me again I swear I'll kick It in the butt!" He
          Yelled. It started to get dark and thq Company gathered for
          chow. After the meal as everyone headed for we heard a shout
          from the lstsgti so we rushed over to find the camel contentedly
          lying right by the IstSgt's sleeping bag. Needless to say, the
          IstSgt kept his word, and the camel was never seen again.


                                       Company F

          LCpl Quinn (Chaplains Assistant) from, Las Vegas, Nevada while
          accompanying Company F, during bunker clearing was startled by
          what he initially thought was an Iraqi soldier. It turned out to
          bL, a Cow in a bun@er.

             On the evening of 23 Februatry 1991, Company S, 2dBn, 7thMar
          infiltrated through the first obstacle belt. The 60mm Mortar
          section of the Legion of Doom, Weapons Platoon was taskdd with
          picking up chem lights that were used to mark 1/3 of the line.
          After picking Lip all the ch" lights, Lcpl James "Festus" Norton
          of San Marcos, Texas handeci them to Cpl (9regory "Scar-FaLce"
          Stricklin of Rocx Springs, WyominQ# "Scarface" replied, 11 I

                                     Wpns Company

          On or about the night of 18 February 1991, the  Slmm Mortar
          Platoon was moving toward positions near the Kuwait border along
          the Saudi burm. While enroute the platoon was supplied with hot
          chow and MREs from the combat train. One of the four HMMWV
          drivers, Cpl Roggenc4mp of Milltown, Indiana, got out 0; his
          vehicle to help another driver load his HMMWV. He wasn't gone
