Toxin is cleared from the serum rapidly and cannot be detected by the
time of symptom onset. Most patients develop a significant antibody response,
but this may require 2-4 weeks.
IV THERAPY
Treatment is limited to supportive care.
V PROPHYLAXIS
There currently is no prophylaxis for SEB intoxication. Experimental
immunization has protected monkeys, but no immunogens are presently
available.
