S. All Archimedes screw pumps in the Ardiya catchment
area were scheduled for rehabilitation and refurbishment
prior to the war. In fact, materials and supplies were

-pumps to move sevage'at several screw pump locations.
6. Of 30 secondary pump 'stations, 16 were flooded.
These stations have smaller pumps and motors and have
either been repaired/replaced or temporary submersible
pumps are being used to lift sewage.

occupation/ liberation period. Most were. operating during
the liberation, but were flooded by loss of electric

9. Major pump station SST visits:
age.

.y
reason unknown.
C. AS was visited and it was determined that it
was f looded to a level above the pump motor
elevation - the actual condition of the motors has
not been assessed because of a low priority for
this work by OMI. (OMI has adopted the policy of
leaving f looded stations f lo6ded until work can
begin to avoid exposing the motors and mechanical
components to air and additional. f looding.) The
MPW did pump down this station dry well and fixed
the sump pump.
