CONCLUSION ig:
Gasketx in valves iii the water usage system will have
dried and otherwise become impaired -in terms of proper
operation. Many leaks in -household, business* hotel,
apartments and elsewhere can be expected to contribute to
water demand and resulting sewage flow.
RECOMRENDATION ig:
The mpw recovery project manager will issue advisories -
encouraging the public to have leaking valves and f ixtures
repaired for reasons of economy and public benefit. The MPW
should also consider issuing an advisory regarding passive
water conservation techniques.

There is an obvious and documented need to plan for major
rehabilitation of the sewage collection and treatment system.
The def inition of major- rehabilitation includes the.
replacement of all asbestos-cement (AC) piping in the sewer
piping system over a 10 year (?) time frame - 10% a year. The
treatment plants (Ardiya especially) should have major
additions including expanded capacity and grit removal.
RECOMMMMATION il:
NPW must begin the process of developing a plan and
implementation strategy for critical long term rehabilitation
of the sewage collection and treatment systems.
CONCLUSION #2:
The sewage treatment plants and sewage collection system
were designed and constructed on the assumption of cheap and
plentiful labor. The sewage treatment plants are equipped
with manual control valves and gatesi'minimal provision for.
