Cdr's Comments: The Brigade is conducting a Mortar Safety Course to ensure
the continued safe firing of the Brigade's mortars. With the numerous live
fire exercises planned for the Brigades' in the coming months, the Mortar
Safety Course will give leadership in the mortar sections and platoons the
confidence they need to keep safety a priority in all mortar operations.

Cdr's Comments: The Division CPX was an excellent training opportunity for
the Brigade & Battalion Staffs. Important lessons learned were in the area of
battle handover with the Aviation Brigade and the need to continue to train
the close synchronization between Air Force and Army Aviation in support of
the ground maneuver.
The Brigade focus will now be on the 3-505 EXEVAL.

Cdr's Comments. Final elements closed on CHAMPION MAIN at 1940 hours. DISCOM
o accomplish several internal objectives during Division CPX in
addition to the Division training objectives. DISCOM conducted MSR
reconnaissance of routes to BSAs and throughout the BSA, final development of
the R&S Plan for PROVIDER BASE, and other unit directed training. Overall the
CPX was an outstanding training opportunity for the DISCOM and all training
objectives were met.

Cdr's Comments: This was an excellent exercise for the Signal Battalion.
Across the board, things went extrememly well. The exercise gave us an
opportunity to ident:ify several areas that need some improvement. Looking
forward to the Jan CPX.
