             BaLin) became effective. The division received ztddi.tion@%].
             engineer assets consisting of E,/326 Engr Co and s@tr,viv-
             ability equipment from the 17Cth E-,iLir Broktr), which was
             comprised of the @127)d, 249L@i, 317t]-i, and 588th Ei-igr Bns,
             totalling 33 dozers, J.9 SEES, 8 scrapers, and 5 loaders.
             The battalion immediately 4 -i)teqrited this force, which we-,
             commanded ind control]. Led by the 176ti-i Engr G@,o@(p, into the
             division operation. The 31'74h Engr Bri, which wAs OF-COr\i to
             the division ind providing survivability and
             coltnter,mobility s@tpport to 2/112'lst BTF, submitted it's
             intent to lay a riinefield vic Al rlays@tmah Airfield.

                  The battalion issued i warning order for the E-I'DC and
             C/8 Engr to be prepared to move from TCIA Wendy to sktpport
             the defensive operation. Additionally in -f'PiA Wendy, we
             co-,itirilied @IS,R -repair and @tiDgy,@Ade, the construction and
             fortification of life sl-tpport areas, and the constrLkCtion
             of the CAB heliport.

                   lx@Jan9i We received ATi allocation of 'OOO mines
             which vie reallocated to 2/101st to enhance the deni@Al.
             operation Lt Al OaysLtm,@h Airfield. ConoLtrrently, A/8 (DS
             to     Bdc-:) was preparing to move into the defensive
             sector, while B/S Engr, (DS to 2nd Bde), continued its
             movement thr-@k 'rAA Wendy.

             the defense, C Co wAi5 directed to began consolidating
          contracted civilian equipment. In 2/10ist sector, the
