             Engagement Areas), the countermobility plan was revised to
             reflect the changes. The result was the shifting of an
             obstacle free zone along 2nd Bde's counterattack Axis and
             the redefining of obstacle belts within 1-7 Cav'@s AO.

               B. Defense North of the rapline

                    17-fangl The order to defend north of the -Tapline
             Road (FRf-)GO 91-6) was received at which time the E'ROC and
             C Co executed their, movement to PSQ'51396.     C Co was tasked
             and immediately began constructing fortifications far I)i-rlC
             and DPIAli\!. These positions consisted of protective begins,
             sl-iell I:)@tnkei-s, vehicle positions, and the basic sanitation
             facilities of an LSA.


                    i7Jan9i The bi-Ut@tliori r,er-eived notification that
             OPI-AN Desert Storut was downgraded to "sLorL-t" and an MCS
             message directing preparations for combat. All the
             directed lz)recoiiibat checks were executed.

                    21jarigl E/B was attached to DISCOM to provide
             additional haul capability to the division. They continued
             their
                    support in this role through the cessation of
             hostilities.


                    2L@',YaT-i9i The battalion was tal@ed to provide Uwo
             AVLB's to ARCEI@T for eventual use by Egyptian forces. C/6
             was given this mission and began preparing to transfer 'the
             vehicles, with @ill COE!, rnink-is radios.
