                C. Border Screen, Deception Operation

                      26Jaiic)l The t)attatliori(-) jumped to PS026837 ind
              began digging in the division. A request to VII Corps for
              an additional engineer battalion to support future
              operations, specifically, OPLAi\i Miles, was denied,
              however, Corps agreed to provide additional survivability
              assets for the current mission. In addition to providing
              survivability support C/8 was tieiked to provide mobility
              support for the forthcoming irtillery raids (Fl@AGL)
              B/S.rfloved vic Wadi Al Batin ind began preparing

              survivability positions for the defense of IR,-tqi Road

                      29J@-tn9J. 'The ta5king Lo transfer CIVLBs to ARCENT was
              amended to include two each instructors for the AVLB and
              1',IICLIC.


                      3OJan9i C/8, AVLBs and instructors, linked up with
              personnel from the 321 -rammc at Logbase Allohe,, who signed
              for the AVLBS. The battalion received 5 of 10 dozers from
              VI'[ Corps (249 EnEt)- Bn). Bksc-d on the priority of effort
              these were further allocated, four to 1-7 Cav and one to
              .@nd Bde.


                      3iJ.inc)i The remaining five dozer,s from Corps
              arrived. 'These were                  one to 1-7 and @wo each to
              Ist and nd Bde.


                       IFeb9l Mines left in sector by 2/1015t were
              recovered ind transported to the 27th FAST located west of
              i-I.xfar Al Batin.   -The battalion also acquired a powershovel
              and
                   a D9 doze-r, which were ipparently left in sector, by the
              Syrians.

                       3F-Lb9i The unit received the kII7 Sainator decon
              apparatus, significantly enhancing the battalion's ability
              to conduct decontamination operations. Decor, team training
              was conducted by the subordinate units to both familiarize
              them with the equipment and to ensure that we could
              pei-for-rii to standards.
