                                     JULLS LONG REPORT

             1. (U) JULLS NUMBER: 40255-99340 (00323), submitted by RILEY
             AFZN-DL, Mr Sheridan, 856-6458, (913)239-6458.

             2. (U) Operation DESERT SHIELD conducted by USCENTCOM on 02/11/91.

             3. (U) KEYWORDS: EXEC SUM.

             4. (U) TITLE: SUMMARY - Phase I - Director of Logistics (DOL)

             5. (U) EXECUTIVE SUMMARY FOR DIRECTOR OF LOGISTICS (DOL)

                   a. Although -Faced with a multitude of problems.(most of
which had been addressed over the years), DOL is convinced that,
in the final analysis, the deployments were successful.

                   b. This success can be attributed quite simply to good
plans. Although OPLAN Lexicon Danger Plan may seem to be THE
plan, it was in fact @ merely a compilation of plans
previously prepared for REFORGER, DACG, MOB, & FRED.

. C. The plans which we developed over the years +or DACS,
bulk POL plant, ASP, Class II and IV, MAP'S, storage, leased
equipment, and hire of temporaries proved to be workable and
             highly effective.

c: Personnel with appropriate skills are available,
equipment can be leased, and providing minimum training to
individuals who will assume duties at the ASP or working with
Class III and IV is a satisfactory solution.

                   d. In summary, Fort Riley merely needs to spruce up its
basic plans with the lessons learned and we are ready for any
new challenge. No great rewrite or revisions are necessary.
Fort Riley's plans are good, solid, and effective.
