                                                                      64/19/91
                                    JULLS LONG REPORT

                M9 ACE,                   28 ea;
                AV/AVS6s;
                AN/TLO17As;
                ATASS; and
                9mm Pistols.

                d. The new equipment training teams for the MI, M2, and M3s
            remained on post past the initial requirement to provide
            additional training.

            7. (U) LESSON LEARNED: a. The priority for painting all
            equipment Desert Sand color required assistance by contractor
            painting teams because of the enormous tasking and short
            completion schedules. Due to these time restraints, the paint
            teams painted any and everything on the equipment without regard
            to data plates, dydraulic arms, rubber seals, canvas, etc. This
            haste has caused problems in country with cylinder arms locking,
            rubber seals cracking, data plates unreadable, and canvas rot.
                b. There was great confusion created when the LARS,
            civilian personnel who were deploying with the Division, went to
            Supply and Services' CIF to draw clothing and equipment.
            Although the requirements stated that each LAO is supported by
            the unit/Division for which they provide logistical support, it
            was unclear how the LARs should draw their various issues.

            13. (U) RECOMMENDED ACTION: a. That a paint prep team be -formed
            to make sure vehicles and equipment are properly prepared prior
            to painting. This will save many additional man hours and item
            replacements later.
                b. That FORSCOM provide additional guidance through each
            Division regarding clothing and equipment requirements,
            vehicles, and issues that each LAO can expect from the unit it
ports in order to clear up any confusion, time delays, and
            equipment shortages.

            9. (U) COMMENTS:    none

            --- (U) SUBJECT: LOGISTICS

                (U) INTEROPERABILITY: PLANNING

                (U) Lesson distributed by: FLLP.
