           2. (U) Operation DESERT SHIELD conducted by USCENTCOM on 02/11/91.

           4. (U) TITLE: LOGISTICS: GOOD DECISIONS MADE


           5. (U) OBSERVATION: A number of decisions made and actions taken
           during Desert Shield yielded excruent results.

           6. (U) DISCUSSION.- HMMWV and 5-ton truck fieldings were a
           Success. These new vehicles have proven to be durable and
           maneuverable. Painting of vehicles/containers prior to
           deployment was well worth the time and dollars expended.
           Purchase of milvans with chassis allowed containers to move
           forward without delay; expenditure well worth results.

           Lt. (?) LESSON LEARNED: Prior preparation and mobility yield
           high dividends in preparing for combat.
