PROCUREMENT SOURCES
5. (U) OBSERVATION: Many item passing through local purchase at
Fort Riley are common items required by all deploying units.
6. (U) DISCUSSION: Without FORSCOM coordination of common use
items and potential sources each installaion experiences
duplicative efforts.
7. (U) LESSON LEARNED: FORSCOM level coordination would speed
up requisition lead time and reduce market survey timeframe.
S. (U) RECOMMENDED ACTION: Request FORSCOM J4 consolidate
listings of common use items and potential sources. These
listings and sources should be provided to FORSCOM DOCs to be
used in deployment planning/execution.
9. (U) COMMENTS: These common use items have been and are being
reported by DOCs to FORSCOM on a periodic basis.
