           4. (U) TITLE: LOGISTICS: DOD ACTIVITY ADDRESS CODE (DODAAC)

           5. (U) OBSERVATION:       Department of Defense Activity Address
           Code (DODAAC) Changes

           6. (U) DISCUSSION: DODAAC changes of addresses were made and
           broadcast to the world on 27 Nov 1990 by Systems Integration and
            an.igemerit Activity (SIMA). When NICPs receive the broadcast,
           they automatically update the Shipping Address for those
           MInveritory Control Points (ICPS) that are totally automated.
           Fort Riley continued to receive shipments from the Defense
           General Supply Center (DGSC) located in Richmond, VA. After
           several calls it was determined taht Ogden, Utah was responsible
           for building the Shipping Address (SAD) file +or the DGSC. When
           personnel at Ogden, Utah were made aware of the problem, they
           advised that they still had the wrong address but Would correct
           it immediately.

           8. (U)  RECOMMENDED ACTION: Establish a definite chain of events,
           +or all aCtiV4ties/organizations and National Inventory Control
           Points to adhere to and to follow up on to ensure no wasted
            . elirie time (shipping time) or transportation costs.
