1. rilter System
* ~irs The 5-Ton does pretty well in the
~ust. The air cleaner will last *e~ral thousand miles in rock
terrain, due ~stly to the fact that it#B intake is so far above
the ~round. lione on a pcwdery courac, li~e the ~G dust course,
the vehicle will go 12-16 hours (at 15 ~h) before the air cleaner
plugs. Zf the vehicle is in convoy soda, it will last
approxi~ately 230 ~inutes. The service life goes down abOut 30
sin~tes for each time the filter is cleaned (with ~ompressed air
Mowing the dust off the outside s~rface with a no:zle on the clean
air side). I reco~end cleaning the filter no more than 6 times.
* ~~el Filters
-No ma~or probl~s with fuel filters.
2. T~re~/~us~sian
* If possible, use the x939Al series truc~s, due to
the fatter tires. Those wider tires. especially in the front,
provide much more mobility in the soft sand. The :aileage of these
tires is als~ about 5-times greater than the older, narrow tires
found on the 93~ base ~hicles, and older SQO series trucks.
